The airline will now function two weekly flights from GOX each Sunday and Wednesday, utilizing a narrow-body Airbus A320 or equal plane.
Uzbekistan Airways JSC, in partnership with its longstanding Indian collaborator Arya Enterprises, launched its inaugural flight HY430 from Mopa, Goa (Manohar International Airport in North Goa) on October 27.
The first plane was greeted with a water cannon salute to honour the airline’s launch from GOX. The airline participated in a lamp-lighting ceremony with its workforce and offered all passengers with welcome goodies, together with dry fruits and neck pillows.
The flight arrived from Tashkent with 111 passengers and departed with a complete of 82 passengers. “The flight returned to Tashkent with 82 passengers, including 40 students flying to Russia for medical studies,” mentioned Anish Arya of Arya Enterprises, the consultant for Uzbekistan Airways in India.
Arya added, “This is the second route launch in India for Uzbekistan Airways in 2024, following the launch of standard flights ex Mumbai on 02 April 2024. “The airline will now function two flights per week, each Sunday and Wednesday, from GOX airport. Visas to the Republic of Uzbekistan may be obtained on-line at www.e-visa.gov.uz.
Mopa airport is developed by GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL). On common, the airport handles round 100 plane actions and roughly 15,000 passengers day by day.
