Hundreds of thousands of visitors are flying to their favorite European destinations as the first official post-pandemic summer season approaches. Most visitors do not need to worry about Covid entrance requirements because practically all European countries have removed all entry requirements. France was the most recent country to take action, removing entrance restrictions on August 1st, 2022. Following France’s declaration, just three European countries have Covid entrance requirements for overseas visitors.
Spain, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg are the last three European countries having admission requirements. Visitors to other European countries will no longer have to worry about vaccination status, restoration evidence, testing, or quarantine. Unfortunately, for anyone seeking to visit any of these three countries, there are still limitations in place that will force visitors to seek out alternative destinations.

For EU or Schengen vacationers there are no limitations for traveling to Spain from associated countries. There are still admission rules in place for those arriving from countries such as the United States or Canada.
Travelers are required to have one of the following documents:
• Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
• A negative NAAT test is performed within 72 hours of departure, or an antigen test is performed within 24 hours of departure.
• Covid-19 restoration certificate.
Spain now allows visitors to visit if they fulfill one of the requirements listed above. Restrictions on occupancy in institutions have been relaxed, and masks are no longer required to be worn indoors or outside except on public transportation or in healthcare facilities.
The Netherlands Requirements
For EU or Schengen visitors there are no limitations on entering The Netherlands from associated countries. There are still admission rules in place for those arriving from countries such as the United States or Canada.
Travelers Must Present the Following Document:
• Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
Those who have been vaccinated and want to go to The Netherlands do not face too many difficulties. Masks are not required anywhere, including public transportation. Public areas, such as restaurants or bars, operate normally and do not need a Covid entrance motion.
Luxembourg Requirements
For EU or Schengen travelers there are no regulations for entering Luxembourg from associated countries. There are still admission rules in place for those arriving from countries such as the United States or Canada.
The travelers should have one of the following documents:
• Covid-19 immunization certificate •
Covid-19 restoration certificate
Luxembourg remains a viable option for fully immunized visitors. There is no need for quarantine, and there are no curfews. Except in hospitals and nursing homes, there is no masks required.
When will entry requirements End?
Unfortunately, the deadlines for entrance requirements for Spain, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg are only estimates. However, they’ve all provided indications that these requirements are ending soon. All three countries have relaxed their entrance requirements for EU or Schengen Associated people, allowing them to travel freely. As countries monitor case numbers and infection rates after reducing restrictions on EU and Schengen Associated Nation residents, they are certain to move forward with removing restrictions for all.
Are Restrictions Gone for Good?
We can only hope! Over the last several years, travelers in certain countries have experienced limitation whiplash. Countries like the United Kingdom had nearly all Covid restrictions lifted in July 2021, only to see them reintroduced with fury as Omicron swept over the country in December of the same year. It appears that the majority of worldwide locales have decided that enough is enough.
However, the World Health Organization has asked Europe to reintroduce Covid restriction protocol before it’s too late in the winter. Time will tell whether or not Covid limitations remain in place indefinitely, but it appears that the majority of vacationers and countries can put it to rest.
