The Thai government has extended VFS Global’s contract to handle visas for all of India. According to the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Embassy in Delhi and the Royal Thai Consulate General/s in Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai, VFS Global will provide services to travellers from India for all visa classes through visa software centres and drop-off locations.

The partnership between the Thai government and VFS Global goes back almost 20 years. Since 2005, the company has processed more than 2 million applications for Thai visas. VFS Global would roll out drop field businesses as part of the mandate in tier 2 cities, which correspond to Aurangabad, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Indore, Lucknow, Mangalore, Nagpur, Nasik, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada. Currently, Agra, Amritsar, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Ludhiana, Patna, Siliguri, and Visakhapatnam offer access to the service.
